Welsh Open draw and scores

Hot on the heels of a thrilling Masters tournament the 2010 Welsh Open begins on 25 January. The tournament is once again being held at the Newport Centre, South Wales.

Ali Carter is the defending champion after his maiden ranking event win here last year following his success in the final over Joe Swail.

With a prize fund totalling £225,500, the winner will receive a cheque for a tidy £35,000, while just turning up will earn the players £1,325.

For the first two rounds and the quarter-finals, each match is played over a maximum of nine frames, with the first to five being the winner. Games in the last-four are extended to 11 frames, with the final the best of 17, played over two sessions of eight and nine.

Betting will be available on each match throughout the tournament as well as the outright market which will be regularly revised
