Andy looking handy in US Open
Andy Murray heads into his match with Donald Young with every chance of reaching at least the Semi Finals according to bookmakers, William Hill. Murray is 9/2 to win the US Open although he is 11/8 to make his bow in the Semi Final. Hills will be hoping that he slips up at some point with a Murray win costing the firm a large six figure sum.
"The further Murray goes in the tournament, the more money that is staked on him winning his maiden Grand Slam, but with the increased turnover on him comes increased liabilities for us and unlike all British tennis fans, we will be keeping our fingers crossed for more Murray misery," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Andy Murray is 1/16 to win his match against Donald Young on Tuesday. His opponent is 7/1 to defeat Murray in front of the home crowd. The odds hint at a fairly easy victory for Murray with 4/9 offered for a straight sets victory, while Murray is 16/5 to drop just one set en route to victory.
Three of the big four are playing on Tuesday and should Djokovic win against Alexandr Dolgopolov, as is expected (with the Serb 1/33 for victory), Hills are offering 13/8 that the top four in the world fill the four Semi-Final spots.
Novak Djokovic is 4/5 to win the US Open while Rafael Nadal is 4/1. Federer completes the top four at 11/2.
