Clay king Rafa to reign in Spain on betliveTV

Spanish super-star Rafael Nadal will return to his roots this week as the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Madrid gets underway live on betliveTV.

The world number one, born on the Spanish island of Majorca, is currently on an incredible 30-match winning streak on clay - the surface the Mutua Madrileña Madrid Open is now played on - and looks like an unstoppable force heading into the event.

Mutua Madrileña Madrid Open: tournament draw

Defending champion Andy Murray is now ranked the third best player on the planet, but will have his work cut out if he has ideals on lifting the trophy once more.

The tournament he won in October 2008 is vastly different to the tournament he'll be participating in this week. In his straight-sets victory over Frenchman Gilles Simon, the courts were both hard and indoors. This year, outside and on clay, his chances appear drastically reduced and his pre-tournament odds reflected this. To win at La Caja Mágica at Park Manzanares Murray was the biggest priced of 'the big four' which includes Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and, of course, Rafa.

Second-seed Federer is having an unusually quiet year by his high standards. The Swiss ace has reached only one final - that of the Australian Open, where he lost in five sets to his now arch-nemesis Nadal. He's made the semi-finals of three Masters 1000 events as well, but he will be disappointed not to have lifted any silverware.

Even though he's slipped to fourth in the world, Djokovic has fared slightly better than Federer this year, having won two tournaments and reached the finals of three more - a record including making the last-two of four events on the trot. Three of those were on clay, so the Serb does have form. Whether it's good enough to win the title is anyone's guess, as he's due to meet Nadal in the semi-final.

The tournament has all the makings of being a classic, with top-class players appearing daily - and you'll be able to watch the best of the action right here at William Hill through betliveTV. Coupled with our betlive service, giving you the latest prices in-play on a range of markets, there really is nowhere else you need to go for the next week.
