Djokovic is Master-ful in Shanghai
Super Serb Novak Djokovic looks like the man to beat in this year's ATP Shanghai Masters Cup, despite a disasterous showing last year.
Djokovic, the World number three, lost all three of his first round matches in 2007 but made sure history did not repeat as he turned in a great performance against Juan Martin del Potro in his opening match.
"I was a bit intimidated by the fact of not winning a match last year" said Djokovic, a 3/1 chance for outright tournament success. "But this year is different. I feel more confident...more mature"
Del Potro was not disgraced in the straight sets loss but he admitted "when you play against...Djokovic, you have just one or two chances in the match. If you're not focused enough to take it, you lose, and that's what happened today."
Next on Djokovic's hit list is Nikolay Davydenko, the Russian number four seed who won the last, and only, encounter between the two players.
Davydenko is also coming off an opening match win, and the winner will be pretty much guaranteed a safe passage through to the semi-finals.
It should be a close contest but with Djokovic in top form it should be 2 matches and 2 wins for the Serb. Djokovic is available at 1/2 which could prove to be good value but even better could be 5/6 on more than 23.5 total games.
