Murray set to spark biggest payout in Tennis betting history!
Should British number one Andy Murray win Wimbledon on Sunday, William Hill predict that the bookmaking industry will payout a monster Seven figure Sum. First he will need to beat Roger Federer, who is the 4/9 favourite with Andy Murray offered at 13/8.
"Andy's win could well spark Murray Mania and if he lifts the trophy we will probably have the worst day of tennis betting in our long history, with a probable industry payout of £5 million," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Should ROGER FEDERER break British hearts and win a seventh Wimbledon, he will win 'Oxfam' a monster £100,000 payout from a bet made nine years ago by a William Hill punter who has since died. Nick Newlife wagered £1520 in 2003 that Roger Federer would eventually win seven Wimbledon singles' titles before the year 2020. Hills gave him odds of 66/1 and now face a £101,840 payout should the Swiss land the title on Sunday. However, Mr Newlife died in 2009, aged 59 - but had taken the precaution of bequeathing the bet to the charity Oxfam.
