Murray's time will come - but maybe not yet
Andy Murray is 5/4 in the betting to beat Rafael Nadal who is 8/13, after an immensely impressive victory over Roger Federer in the Capitala World Championship.
Murray dropped the first set but fought back magnificently to defeat the world number two for the fifth time winning 4-6 6-2 7-6 (8-6).
The Scotsman is definitely a much-improved player and will be looking to win his first Grand Slam this season and he has looked extremely impressive in his first matches of the year.
Nadal is a formidable opponent. Having claimed world number one spot towards the end of last year the Spaniard has just gone from strength to strength.
He easily disposed on Nikolay Davydenko in the semi-finals and will be looking to get his season off to a cracking start by giving Murray the same treatment.
History is not in Murray's favour as he has met Nadal 6 times and only been victorious once. He is a stronger player now though and he will enter the match with his confidence flying high.
Murray often starts slow in his matches and is prone to losing the first set which makes the 8/11 about Nadal winning the first set appealing.
Another interesting bet is Murray not to hold his first service game which is a generous 5/2 in the betting. He lost his first service game against Federer before recovering well later on.
Murray looks set for great things this year and he will give Nadal a run for his money tomorrow but the Spaniard looked awesome on his return this year and the feeling is that he will have the measure of Murray on this occasion.
It is likely to be close though and Nadal to win 2-1 at 13/5 looks the bet and if this is the case then 11/10 about the match going to three sets would be worth having a bit on.
It's a fantastic start of the year for all tennis fans and win or lose Andy Murray looks set to have a cracking 2009.
Nadal to win 2-1 - 13/5
