Out of this world Venus destined for another victory

Once again the Williams sisters are set to do battle in their fourth Wimbledon final and Venus is favourite this year at odds of 8/11 to defeat Serena who can be backed at 11/10.

These two sisters have dominated Wimbledon, having taken seven out of the last nine finals between them.

Just last year Venus beat Serena in the final to capture her fifth title, while the two other times they collided, Serena got the better of her older sister in 2002 and 2003.

This time around things would appear to be swinging in Venus' favour as she has not dropped a set yet throughout this tournament which now means she has won 31 consecutive sets at Wimbledon.

This will have some punters steaming in to the 2/1 on offer about Venus taking the final 2-0 and continuing her phenomenal record here.

Should Serena stand a chance of an upset then it is hard to envisage straight sets victory which means her  fans could be tempted by the 3/1 on offer about a 2-1 victory to the younger sister.

Up until the semi-final Serena had not lost a set either and has in fact cruised through all her games, most notably 6-2, 6-3 against rising star Victoria Azarenka.

However in the semi-final she played out an absolute classic with Elena Dementieva which may have tired her out as it finished 7-6, 5-7, 8-6 and she didn't won through mental toughness rather than outplaying the Russian.

Venus meanwhile embarrassed the current world number one Dinara Safina, 6-1, 6-0 in nothing short of a crushing victory, demonstrating that she is the queen of grass tennis and her sister doesn't seem to be able to recapture her glory days when she was dual Wimbledon champion.

A big price of 16/1 is available on Venus to beat Serena 6-1 in the first set, but her sister is a tough nut to crack and the two have a 10-10 head-to-head record and are 2-2 on grass so maybe 6-4 at 11/2 or 7-5 at 12/1 look better bets.

Should Serena snatch the first, then 7-6 could be the call as it will most likely be close and that can be backed at odds of 17/2. This would also bring in to play there being over 10.5 games in the first set at odds of 9/4 with under 8.5 games 13/5 and 8.5-10.5 games is available at 17/20 in the betting.

If Serena is to win a set then perhaps a wager on just that at odds of 10/11 could be for you as her stamina is more likely to give out sooner than the well-rested Venus and she is 4/5 to take the first set.

It is almost impossible to get away from the fact that Venus has been simply breathtaking over the last two weeks and it will take the performance of a lifetime from her sister or a serious step backwards from Venus herself for it to go any other way than the older Williams sister capturing her sixth Wimbledon crown.

Backing Venus to win at odds of 8/11 looks like buying money and that accompanied by a small wager on a first set correct score of 7-5 in case it's tight at a healthy 12/1 could have you celebrating along with one of the greatest female Wimbledon champions of all time.
