Punters back former Champs

Andy Murray is being largely ignored in the build up to the French Open, with tennis punters failing to find any real value in the Scotsman, despite being offered at 25/1. Instead, punters are piling into last year's finalists Nadal 5/6 and Federer at 8/1. This marks a big swing from last season, where Novak Djokovic went into the tournament undefeated and the only player being backed.

"Djokovic pulled away so much last season that he was the only person being backeded ," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly. "Our punters think now, however, that the former top dogs of Nadal and Federer are on their way back."

Serena Williams is the best backed player in the women's draw and is the 5/2 favourite t win the tournament. Victoria Azarenka is the 4/1 second favourite with Sharapova at 5/1.

Men's French Open: 5/6 Rafael Nadal; 2/1 Novak Djokovic; 8/1 Roger Federer; 14/1 Juan Martin del Potro; 25/1 Andy Murray; 33/1 David Ferrer; 33/1 Tomas Berdych; 66/1 BAR

Women's French Open: 5/2 Serena Williams; 4/1 Victoria Azarenka; 5/1 Maria Sharapova; 8/1 Petra Kvitova; 10/1 Na Li; 12/1 Samantha Stosur; 16/1 BAR
