Punters Think Andy Will Be Handy In OZ
Andy Murray is 5/1 joint third favourite with William Hill to win this year's Australian Open after victory in Brisbane. After a fantastic 2011, Novak Djokovic is the current world number one and 11/8 favourite to win the first Grand Slam of the year with Federer 11/4 and Nadal 5/1.
The gap between the top four and the rest of the pack seems to be widening and Hills are offering 4/1 that the semi finals are contested between Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Murray. Hills think that, despite reaching the Australian Open Final for the last two years, the most likely stage of elimination for Murray will be the Semi Final at 13/8. He is 2/1 to reach the final and 16/1 to exit at the first round.
"The best of Murray's form has often come in the Australian Open and he will be looking to go one better than last year," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
