Will Djokovic rescue bookies from Nadal victory?
Novak Djokovic is the 4/6 favourite to win the Australian Open with William Hill, after his five set epic against Andy Murray. Rafael Nadal is 6/5 to win the tournament.
The most likely outcome is a 3-0 victory for Djokovic, offered at 7/2, while a 3-1 victory is 14/5 and 3-2 is 9/2. Hills offer 5/2 that the match goes to five sets.
"We went 8/1 pre-tournament for a Nadal victory and as a result we are big Djokovic supporters in the final. The five set match against Murray will have taken it out of him and hopefully he can win it in straight sets," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Andy Murray is 4/6 with William Hill to announce his retirement never having won a singles Major - but 11/10 finally to break his duck before he quits.
Djokovic is now 14/1 to complete the Grand Slam this year, with Nadal 25/1.
Andy Murray is now 2/9 to fail to win a Grand Slam this year, 11/4 to win one, 33/1 to win two and 125/1 to win three.
