Will the Curse of Cameron strike back?
A message of luck from David Cameron to British sports stars is like kryptonite to Superman. This week the Curse of Cameron claimed its latest victim in the form of Laura Robson. Historically, well-wishing messages from the Prime Minister have seen powerhouses such as the England Rugby team and Lewis Hamilton fall to the knees of their opponents.
With Andy Murray taking Centre Court today and Mr Cameron already sending him a tweet wishing him luck, the nation will hold their breath and hope the Curse of Cameron does not claim another victim.
William Hill is starting a campaign to #BanCam from sending messages of luck to Britain’s sports men and women in order to give them the greatest chances of winning. We are imploring the Prime Minister to instead send his messages to their opponents.
Should Murray get through to the semi-finals, William Hill is offering a £250 free bet for Mr Cameron on Murray with the winnings going to the charity of his choice.
So Mr Cameron, please message either Lukasz Kubot or Jerzy Janowicz in the run up to the Wimbledon Semi-Finals.
