You bet Murray faces being Fed-axed in Oz semis
Andy Murray has slipped down to number five in the world rankings following Robin Soderling's victory in Brisbane and William Hill make him the 6/1 third favourite to win the Australian Open.
Rafael Nadal is the 7/4 favourite and Roger Federer a 2/1 shot. With Murray now likely to face a tough draw from the quarter-finals onwards, Hills are offering 5/1 that he is eliminated in the quarters while the 2/1 favourite is for him to be eliminated in the semis.
"By dropping down to fifth in the world rankings, Andy could well face Federer or Nadal in the quarters or semis, but the Australian Open is his most successful Grand Slam event and another final appearance could well be in the offing," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Murray is 3/1 to win Wimbledon and Hills are offering 13/8 that Andy Murray wins at least one Grand Slam in 2011. He is 4/9 to remain without a major trophy to his name until 2012.
