2011 National TV Awards
National TV Awards: Favourites Are Well Backed But Will There Be A Surprise Or Two?
William Hill punters have been rushing to back the favourites for next week's National TV Awards with odds tumbling faster than a rogue Weatherfield tram. Harry Hill's TV Burp has been backed in from Evens to 10/11 for Best Comedy Show, while Doctor Who is now 1/7 from 1/5 for Best Drama. Ant and Dec are 1/10 from 1/8 for best Entertainment and I'm A Celeb is 2/9 from 1/4 to win Best Entertainment.
"The favourites are proving very popular at the moment and as far as out punters are concerned, they think that they are buying money by backing them. However, historically there are normally a couple of surprises and this year may be no different," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
The Annual Corrie vs. EastEnders battle heats up once more with EastEnders just shading things at the moment. Despite the 50th anniversary celebrations in 2010, Corrie is 6/5 second favourite, while their Cockney counterparts are 8/13 favourites.
"It seems that not even killing off Ashley Peacock will be enough for Corrie to defeat Easties this year," said Crilly.
