After the Grammy comes a Brit for Mumford & Sons

Mumford and Sons' odds have tumbled for the Brit Awards after their sensational Grammy win last weekend.

The Group have overtaken early favourites, One Direction, and are currently 4/7 with William Hill to win Best Group. One Direction are 13/8 with Muse 6/1, Mercury winners, Alt-J 16/1 and The XX at 33/1.

"Mumford and Sons produced something of a shock when they picked up their Grammy last weekend but, now, having seen the plunge in their odds it would not be so much of a shock if they were to pick up a Brit Award next week," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Adele is miles ahead of the competition for Best Single at 1/3 with Skyfall, having already won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. James Arthur is the 11/2 second favourite with Olly Murs and Flo Rida 9/1.

The biggest certainty of the evening looks as though it will be Emeli Sande who is 1/9 to bag Best Female.
