Beardshaw backed for Chelsea top honour: 7/1 to 3/1 Fav
Chris Beardshaw's ‘Furzey Gardens' has been the subject of a sizeable gamble at William Hill just days before the announcement of the Best in Show Garden at this year's Chelsea Flower Show.
The Gardner's World presenter was originally offered at 7/1, however, having been the subject of almost 70% of all Chelsea Flower Show bets this week, his odds have tumbled to 3/1.
He has overtaken Sarah Price's ‘Daily Telegraph' - offered at 7/2 with Hills, who also offer 4/1 Brewin Dolphin, 4/1 Laurent Perrier Bicentennial and 9/2 Quiet Time.
"Chris has not been at Chelsea for a number of years now but he is a very popular guy and our punters think his comeback garden will be just as well-liked," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Diarmuid Gavin's flamboyance knows no bounds and this year he returns to Chelsea with a seven storey garden.
Hills do not think his extravagant design will grab the top prize at Chelsea this year, offering 14/1 that it wins Best in Show Garden.
"Diarmuid is not afraid to think outside the box but the showiness of his gardens often divide opinion and we believe this year will be no different," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
