BGT to trump The Voice in ratings war?
Bookmakers Back BGT To Trump The Voice In Ratings War
War has been waged again between ITV and BBC as it was revealed that The Voice and Britain's Got Talent will overlap by 75 minutes on Saturday evening on the 13th April.
William Hill are offering 1/5 that BGT wins the ratings war on its opening night, while The Voice is 10/3 to outdo its rival.
"Saturday night TV is all about the viewer, but it seems as though this war between ITV and the BBC will result in one show, completely outstripping its rival and in this case, we can see The Voice trounced by BGT," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
After last year's victory by dancing dog, Pudsey, William Hill have cut the odds of any performing animal act winning the show from last year's 16/1 to 10/1.
The favourite act to win, however, is a solo singer at 2/1 followed by a dance troupe at 9/4.
Britain's Got Talent 2013 type of winner: 2/1 solo singer; 9/4 dance troupe; 4/1 singing group; 6/1 magician; 7/1 solo dancer; 10/1 comedian/impersonator; 10/1 performing animal act; 12/1 instrumental/musical act; 12/1 puppet act/ventriloquist; 25/1 aerobic/sports act; 25/1 escapologist; 25/1 fire breather; 25/1 juggling act/baton twirler; 50/1 drag act; 50/1 mime artist; 100/1 stripper/burlesque act
