Biggest X Factor fav since Leona 1/4 for Xmas #1
It was no surprise as Sam Bailey won the X Factor as the 1/8 favourite took the crown ahead of Nicholas McDonald.
Sam had been the subject of a number of large bets throughout the course of the show with one Midlands based punter placed £8,000 on her winning at 1/4 bagging a £2,000 profit.
After the announcement, William Hill cut the price of the X Factor winner's single bagging the Christmas Number One single. Offered at 2/5, it is now 1/4 that Sam tops the festive chart.
"Sam has been red hot favourite to win the X Factor for the last five or six weeks. She was the hottest favourite going into a final since Leona and the result was never really in question," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "She now looks set to beat all of her rivals in the race for the Christmas number one."
