Bookies betting Matt Cardle will be Brookstein Mark II
Matt Cardle has revealed in a recent interview that he "compromised himself" by appearing on the X-Factor and has admitted that his performances on the show make him cringe.
This is guaranteed to not sit well with Simon Cowell and William Hill are offering 11/10 that the X-Factor mogul drops Cardle from his record label by the end of 2012. Should he go the way of some of the less memorable winners from the X-Factor, he could well have to scrape the barrel to ensure his music career remains in the limelight and he is 33/1 to release a duet with Steve Brookstein by the end of next year.
"Cardle has hardly held back in his criticism of his time on the X-Factor and the last winner to have done so was Steve ‘dropped quicker than a hot potato' Brookstein," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly. "We may well see them pairing up quite soon."
Matt Cardle's first album comes out next week and William Hill are predicting a week of misery, with it 1/9 to fail to hit the top spot (5/1 to hit number 1).
Will he be dropped by Simon Cowell by the end of 2012: 4/6 no; 11/10 yes
