Cobblers to Rovers? Hunt is on for new Corrie pub grub
William Hill have opened betting on what will be the new 'signature dish' at the Rover's Return when Betty Turpin calls last orders on her Coronation Street career.
Street bosses have claimed that they will pull the plug on her hot pot and Hills make lamb cobbler the 2/1 favourite to be filling bellies at the Rovers. Meat and Potato Pie is the 4/1 second favourite while potato hash is the 7/1 third favourite.
If the Rovers decides to become a gastro pub, Heston Blumenthal's signature of Egg and Bacon Ice Cream is a 100/1 shot, while Gordon Ramsey's Cappuccino of White Beans with Grated Truffle and Lobster Ravioli is priced at 150/1.
"We are of the belief that the Rovers will stick to traditional regional fare, however, should the owner want a change in direction when Betty leaves, Heston's Egg and Bacon Ice Cream would certainly create a stir amongst the locals," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
William Hill Odds:
Corrie's New Signature Dish: 2/1 Lamb Cobbler; 4/1 Meat and Potato Pie; 7/1 Potato Hash; 8/1 Tripe and Onions; 14/1 Bury Black Pudding; 16/1 Mushy Peas; 18/1 Rag Pie; 18/1 Nodding Pudding; 25/1 Thai Green Curry; 25/1 Cornish Pasty; 100/1 Egg and Bacon Ice Cream; 150/1 Cappuccino of White Beans with Grated Truffle and Lobster Ravioli; 200/1 Flan D'Escargot En Habit Vert
