EastEnders 1/2 for top Christmas show
With Derek Branning set to be sensationally written out of EastEnders on Christmas Day, EastEnders is the hot favourite at 1/2 with William Hill to top the TV viewing figures on 25th December.
It is quite some way ahead of Doctor Who and Downton Abbey, both offered at 4/1. Coronation Street is the fourth favourite at 8/1.
"EastEnders tops the Christmas Day television betting every year and every year it obliges for festive punters, topping the ratings ever since the Den and Angie saga back in the Eighties," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
Derek Branning actually tops the betting on who his killer will be at 9/2 with Lauren Branning 5/1, Tanya 6/1 and Alfie at 7/1.
