Lowest white Xmas odds for 38 years as temps tumble
William Hill have slashed the odds for the UK's lowest ever temperature to be recorded. The record of -27.2 C was set in Aberdeenshire in January 1982 and is now 3/1 to be smashed from an original 25/1. The lowest temperature in Wales is 4/1 to be broken and England 5/1.
"This is the lowest price that we have ever offered in 38 years of weather wagers and it looks a real possibility that the mercury will plummet in the coming weeks," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Aberdeen is Hill's 8/11 favourite to get snow on Christmas Day. Edinburgh and Glasgow are also odds on at 4/5 to experience a white Christmas. London is 5/4 , while many Northern cities, including Manchester, York and Liverpool are all Even money.
