Sir Bruce's Biggest fan finally gets payout!
Bookies William Hill are pleased for Sir Bruce Forsyth that he has finally been given a knighthood but it brings to a close one of the longest running bets in William Hill's history.
On January 1st every year since 1989, Hill's have offered a price of Brucie getting a knighthood in that year, which had at one point been pushed out as far as 33/1.
One Forsyth fan from Yorkshire has religiously placed her bet of £10 every January and she will finally get paid out after over 10 years.
Hills now offer 4/1, that Brucie decides not to host strictly this year and 1/1 that this will be his last ever series.
"It was about time Brucie got his knighthood and although it will cost us a few pounds today, we have made a small fortune from this bet over the years. The big question is will Sir Brucie now decide to retire from Strictly or will he carry on for some time?" said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
