The Oscars: Bookies Predict Late Gambles Will Ensure Late Drama!
In true Oscar style, William Hill are predicting a couple of surprise winners on Oscar night after a swing of momentum away from some of the long term favourites. Although Daniel Day Lewis & Anne Hathaway both look safe (1/50) all the other major Oscars could produce an upset.
The Best Picture Oscar has all been about Argo but William Hill have seen a trickle of cash for Lincoln (5/1) this morning.
Ang Lee is now 5/2 second favourite for Best Director, whilst Emmanuelle Riva (2/1) would perhaps be the most popular winner of the night if she can wrestle the Best Actress award away from the favourite Jennifer Lawrence (8/13).
Christoph Waltz (5/4) is hunting down Tommy Lee Jones for the Best Supporting Actor and Skyfall looks set to deliver a much deserved Best Original Song Oscar for the Bond franchise at 1/10.
"Suddenly it is getting very tense and we have decided to bet through the night. It is going to be a long night for favourite backers and we might just see a shock or two," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
