The Oscars: Will Bookies Have Wardrobe Malfunction
Bookmakers William Hill have been forced to suspended the betting on the winner of the Best Actress Oscar wearing a Victoria Beckham creation, after a flurry of activity on Friday night saw the price collapse from 33/1 to 3/1. The betting was from the South Kensington area, with one particular customer attempting to place a large three figure sum. "
"The money suggests that either Viola Davis or Meryl Streep will be wearing a Victoria Beckham labelled dress at the Oscars and we just have to hope that the other one wins. That said, they could both be and we will be the ones having a wardrobe malfunction," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
Viola Davis is the current 8/13 favourite to win the Best Actress Oscar but she will be looking over her shoulder as Meryl Streep is hot on her heels at 6/5. It is a similar story in the Best Actor award as Jean Dujardin is the 4/6 favourite to win but George Clooney is just behind at 11/10. The Artist looks like being the winner in the other two big awards with Hills offering 1/20 that it wins Best Film and Michel Hazanavicius is 1/8 to win Best Director.
1/3 The Best Actress To Cry During Acceptance Speech
1/1 Jean Dujardin To Sing French National Anthem During His Acceptance Speech
3/1 Any Winner To Swear During Acceptance Speech
