Will Corrie overtake EastEnders whodunnit?
William Hill have been celebrating Coronation Street's 50th anniversary by offering a special market on who will perish in the spectacular tram crash. It has proved very popular with Corrie fans and Hills have been blown away by its success.
Having taken just over a thousand bets since Monday, the market has a long way to go to emulate the success of the 'Who Killed Archie Mitchell' market but we still have until Friday to attract the punters' pound.
"The bets that we have taken have been for a range of characters and this proves that ITV have managed to keep a lid on who does eventually pop their clogs. The market is changing on a daily basis as more characters become embroiled in the peril," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
Jason Grimshaw and Sunita Alahan were the two big movers in Hill's Coronation Street special market. The pair were seen in perilous predicaments on Tuesday night's show and have both been slashed in the betting. Jason has gone from 25/1 to 8/1 to meet his maker while Sunita is 11/10 having been 5/2.
