Ghana to maim the Socceroos
Australia are in the last-chance saloon, desperate for three points, so they may progress to the knock-out stages of the World Cup.
The Australia camp will not be the most harmonious camp in South Africa at the moment, there is reputed unrest amongst the players and manager.
Australia were humiliated against the Germans, losing 4-0 in Durban. Tim Cahill is now suspended for the Ghana match after his sending off and the nation is relying on Harry Kewell to take them forward.
Kewell was left out of the Germany match day squad altogether, he claims he was fit yet the manager claimed his exclusion was down to shin splints.
The Australian manager is a Dutchman Pim Verbeek, he was not first choice for the job and he is taking up the role of a youth technical director for Morocco after the World Cup. He was tactically poor against the Germans and chose a 4-4-2 formation.
However, Australia do not have any out and out strikers in the squad, so the formation was completely ineffective.
He left the former Celtic forward Scott McDonald out the squad this World Cup because he did not fit onto his usual 4-2-3-1 system.
Last night, I thought France would dominate Mexico as they needed the win, they had the necessary quality in the squad but they failed to play as a team. For France, Domenech is a dead man walking, Laurent Blanc will be taking over as France manager after the World Cup.
It is a similar case with Australia, there have been rumours that Verbeek has cracked up and is not up to the job and is just biding his time before taking up his post with Morocco. He is not an Aussie and has no real affiliation with Australia.
Ghana looked excellent in the 1-0 defeat of Serbia. They do not look like they are missing Essien and Sulley Muntari should start for the Black Stars tomorrow.
I believe the Black Stars will maul the Socceroos and even money for Ghana is a great price. I would also have a punt on Ghana Only to score at 15/8.
Australia have no out and out strikers and they will struggle to score against the Ghanaians. Australia are without their talisman Cahill and they are out of sorts.
I would also consider a Ghana 3-0 win at 16/1, with Muntari playing alongside Gyan there could be plenty of goals.
