Superbowl 2019 Predictions: Rams vs Patriots |03/03/2019 |

The Los Angeles Rams will be making the trek to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII, after defeating a Drew Brees-led offence in last weekend’s conference championship games.

Jared Goff’s side profited from an error on the part of the officials, who cost the Saints a chance at Vince Lombardi glory when they didn’t call for pass interference on Nickell Robey-Coleman clattering into Lewis.

Against the Patriots, they might not be so lucky…

Rams vs Patriots: odds and predictions

Bill Belichick’s men are betting as 37/20 favourites in our Super Bowl 2019 predictions, while their opponents register as underdogs, with the odds trading as a 23/20 pick.

And rightfully so, given that the Pats are led by the NFL’s most-tenured coach and oldest starting quarterback – an unplayable combination.

This is the duo’s ninth appearance in the Super Bowl together, so they know the drill better than any quarterback-coach combination in NFL history.

So, what will the Rams need to do if they are to stand a chance against some of the most experienced and adept heads in the business?

Simply put, they have to solve the ‘Brady-Belichick’ enigma, and leading the charge for Sean McVay is Aaron Donalds.

The Rams’ defensive tackle is the best in NFL at the position and leads the league with 20.5 sacks. Despite the fact that Brady is protected by a stellar defensive line-up, Donalds could be the dark horse in exploiting the 41-year-old’s love for dilly-dallying in the pocket.

Aside from Donalds, Jared Goff’s exciting link-up play with both Todd Gurley and Robert Woods will pose the Patriots a threat, and given time and space in the pocket, Goff will not fail to find them.

All in all, we’re set for a thrilling showdown in Atlanta, so scroll down and peruse our Rams vs Patriots predictions and betting tips.

Rams vs Patriots predictions: winning margin, best bets, team to score in every quarter

Winner predictions: Patriots to win by 1-6 points, odds @ 15/4

The first of our Super Bowl 2019 predictions expect Belichick’s side to emerge as narrow winners, by the most slender of margins, as they have done in previous finals.

Indeed, in four of the last eight Super Bowls, the Pats have won by no more than four points, suggesting that this year’s finals could go the same way.

While it may suggest an inability to prevent their opponents from scoring, it proves that Brady is more than capable to pull out all the stops to drag his side to the finishing line, if needed.

Best bet: LA Rams to turnover first, forecast @ 17/20

A common denominator in all three of the Rams’ regular-season defeats were turnovers by Goff.

The 24-year-old threw an interception against the Saints, four against the Chicago Bears, and was responsible for another two in the loss against last season’s Super Bowl winners, the Eagles.

Given that the Rams quarterback has proved his skill and verve, it could be telling of an inability to operate at peak efficiency in high-pressure situations.

This is why we’re predicting Goff to repeat his woes as part of the first match bet of our Super Bowl 2019 predictions and betting tips, with the odds trading @ 17/20.

Team to score in every quarter: LA Rams our pick, trading @ 13/8

While we may be projecting the Rams to be on the losing side come the end of the fourth quarter, the last of our Super Bowl 2019 predictions is still betting that they’ll score in every quarter of the game.

Goff has proved across the regular season that he and C.J. Anderson have a near-telepathic range in finding one another on the field, which could be the relationship that gets the Rams onto the score-sheet frequently.

Indeed, over the Rams’ two playoff games, Anderson has 40 touches compared to someone like Gurley, who averaged 23 touches.

Should McVay’s men have a chance in taking the Pats down to the wire, they will need the 27-year-old to be firing on all cylinders throughout every quarter of the game.
