Kevin Stott’s William Hill blog: My three rides at Epsom on Saturday

| BY News Team

It’s always great to be ride at Epsom and on Derby day is even better. It’s obviously a very big weekend with the Jubilee as well and I’m really looking forward to heading down there for three solid rides. All of them aren’t without a chance, but it’s obviously a very competitive card and winners are always hard to come by.

Epsom Saturday

I kick off my Saturday rides at Epsom with Statement in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes (2.35pm).

It’s her first ride for Kevin [Ryan] having been with Martyn Meade and we’ve been happy with enough with how she’s gone at home so far. She’s obviously got form around Epsom which is obviously a plus, though we’d like a bit of rain to see her at her best. It’s a pretty handy race on paper, so I’d be delighted if she finished in the first four.

The draw in stall one isn’t ideal for Justanotherbottle in the ‘Dash’ (3.45pm) but he’s very quick so hopefully we can get out and away. We all know how competitive this race is and you need plenty of luck, but he’s in good form and we’re hopeful he’ll put in a good performance.

Regional has had a bit of break since his run in Qatar but Ed [Bethell] says he’s in flying form. We wouldn’t want any rain for him in the six-furlong handicap (5.50pm), so if the weather doesn’t arrive it will definitely be in his favour. We don’t know if he’ll handle the track, but I can only rely on Ed’s word and if he says he’s in good form then we’ve got to be hopeful he’ll be there or thereabouts.
