Kevin Stott’s William Hill blog: Six on Saturday at Chelmsford

Chelmsford, Saturday
Another busy evening for me at Chelmsford on Saturday with six rides.
I start with Ramz for Karl Burke (5:55pm). Unfortunately, he pulled up lame last timeout but -thankfully – was none the worse and Karl is happy with him ahead of this run. Prior to that he was progressing steadily and sets a solid standard with a mark of 74. It looks to be an open maiden, but Karl has had a great year, especially with his two-year-olds.
Roman Dynasty is next, over one mile for Joseph Parr (6:30pm). This gelding hasn’t won since his first ever racecourse appearance back in 2020, but he has run some good races in the placings. He is down to a career-low mark as he didn’t manage to get a clear run over seven furlongs here last time. Hopefully he can run a nice race, but clearly he won’t be easy to win with.
In the following six furlong race I’ll partner Al Ameen for George Boughey (7:00pm). He had his first win back in January over five furlongs. It’s been a while since that victory but he’s had some decent placed efforts amongst his runs since, including last time out at Newcastle earlier this month. He’s very capable if he wants to win, but he can hold a bit back. Let’s hope he really tries.
Then it’s Heatherdown Hero for Michael Bell (7:30pm). He’s been in good form lately, and I thought we were unlucky to get run down in the final strides at Southwell last time. He steps up in trip again, and that providing he settles in the early stages, he should go close once again.
Second last is Camachess for Philip McBride (8:00pm). This mare is a five-time All-Weather winner, and ran well at Yarmouth recently, which was her second run after a break. She could improve again from that and looks to be on a decent mark.
Mc’ted finishes us off for Joseph Parr again (8:30pm). This is a really consistent gelding who is in great form this year. He can be a little keen so I will have to get him to switch off in order to finish his race well. A nice third over course and distance last time has to give him a chance!
