Gentlemen’s Wimbledon Singles
Carlos Alcaraz 6/5
Last year’s winner Carlos Alcaraz made Wimbledon his second Grand Slam victory, beating seven-time reigning champ Novak Djokovic over a thrilling five-setter. Alcaraz has been turning heads for a couple of years now, first making his mark in Flushing Meadows in New York, where he won his first Grand Slam.
More recently, the Spaniard picked up his third different Grand Slam in the French Open on the clay, leaving him just one more to tick off. He has been all guns blazing at Wimbledon so far in the bid to defend his title and he is 6/5 to do so.
Novak Djokovic 13/8
This man needs no introduction. Since his first Wimbledon win in 2011, Novak Djokovic has picked up six more titles to become one of the tournament’s best ever performers. There are question marks around his fitness, having pulled out of the French Open with a knee injury, with attention has been drawn to the slipping Djokovic endured during his round of 16.
The Serbian’s price of 13/8 does seem large for a seven-time Wimbledon winner but with the other top two in the market fully fit, it could be a tough ask for Djokovic to steal back the crown this summer.
Daniil Medvedev 6/1
Daniil Medvedev’s victory over Jannik Sinner was a significant highlight of this year’s competition, with Sinner the tournament favourite at the time. The match showcased Medvedev’s exceptional tactical acumen and mental fortitude. Sinner, known for his powerful baseline game and athleticism, posed a formidable challenge, but Medvedev managed to outplay him with his unique blend of defensive skills and counter-attacking prowess. He continues into the semi-finals, and after beating the tournament favourite, there could be value in him at 6/1.
Ladies’ Wimbledon Singles
Elena Rybakina 21/20
Elena Rybakina is the only member of the top three in the betting to have won a Wimbledon title, triumphing back in 2022. She has been slightly unpredictable in Grand Slams since then however, reaching just one final in the Australian Open last year.
It is worth noting though that she does have her highest win rate in this Grand Slam (88%), having only lost 2 matches from 16 since 2021. At 6/5 she’ll certainly be in the mix in some capacity, especially with the initial market leaders now out.
Jasmine Paolini 10/3
Jasmine Paolini’s performance at Wimbledon 2024 has been noteworthy, as she showcased her skills and competitive spirit on the grass courts. She stunned current favourite Elena Rybakina to reach her first Grand Slam semi-final at the French Open last month, and may well meet the same opponent in the final
Paolini has reached another semi-final here and having opened at a big price of around 50/1, she’s certainly in for a shot now at 10/3.
Jelena Ostapenko 6/1
Jeļena Ostapenko has had an impressive run at Wimbledon 2024 so far. She has been showcasing her powerful and aggressive playing style, which has become her signature on the court. Ostapenko has advanced through the rounds without conceding more than five games to any opponent, and is one to watch at 6/1.
