Where will Ivan Toney go next?

The summer transfer window is open with many players rumoured to be on the move as clubs look to strengthen ahead of the new season.
One of the most highly touted strikers in the market currently is Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney.
The 28-year-old had a disrupted 23/24 Premier League season due to a suspension which covered the first half of his campaign, but he still managed four goals in 16 games for a Brentford side that wasn’t especially firing. His ability is still known to all after a brilliant 22/23 Premier League season where he scored 20 goals, proving himself as one of the best centre forwards in the league.
His goalscoring and general level of play has seen him long linked to a move away from Brentford, and this may be the summer that he takes the step up to a bigger club who are looking for a proven option in a striker market that is looking relatively thin at the elite level.
Bet on Ivan Toney’s next move here with William Hill
Tottenham – 13/8
Tottenham lead the market to land Toney’s signature, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Spurs make a move for him. Still yet to truly replace Harry Kane, they are missing output up front, and Ivan Toney looks as if he would be the perfect fit for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
A proven goalscorer at this level, comfortable with the ball at his feet and in hold up play, he would work well with Heung-min Son and James Maddison whilst providing the killer edge that Tottenham were missing at points of last season – this would be a great signing for Spurs.
Arsenal – 3/1
Next in the market are Arsenal at 3/1. Once again, Mikel Arteta’s men were just thwarted in the Premier League and whilst looking fairly equipped to go again, they may need to strengthen to reach the level of Manchester City.
One contentious area for Arsenal is the centre forward position, where several different players were tried across the course of last season. Toney may be the missing piece of puzzle that Arsenal really need to kick on and clinch some silverware, so don’t be surprised if they make a move for him.
Man Utd – 4/1
As always, you mustn’t rule out Man Utd in a transfer saga. Despite seemingly having the striker position covered in Rasmus Højlund, they may still look to the market for a more experienced option that can provide depth after the exit of Anthony Martial.
United do need to kick on, and they will need strength in depth all over the pitch. Toney could provide that, whilst giving guidance to the younger Højlund, who is yet to start fully firing in the Premier League.
Newcastle – 6/1
Newcastle are also in the market to sign Toney, and you can’t rule out the Toon club making a move for him. Both forwards Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak have been strongly linked to moves away from St James’ Park, which would leave a vacancy up front that could be filled by Toney. This would be a natural progression for the Brentford man to a massive club with a loyal set of supporters desperate to get back into Europe.
