Female Presenters and Broadcasters On Sky Sports

| BY News Team

The number of female presenters and reporters on Sky Sports has increased markedly in the last few years. Sky Sports News has always had female presenters, but Sky has rightly moved towards gender equality across its broadcasts.

This goes from boxing, netball, cricket, and Formula One to the most-watched football matches where female pundits and commentators are becoming more common.

Caroline Barker

Caroline Barker has been a trailblazer, becoming the first female presenter of Match Day Live for Premier League Productions.

On Sky Sports, Barker has been a regular on netball and football coverage for the last few years. You will regularly see Barker fronting coverage of the women’s game.

Alison Bender

Alison Bender has appeared on pretty much every major television network from ESPN to Premier League Productions and Sky Sports.

Across an extensive media career, Bender has appeared on Sky Sports at various different times. The Chelsea fan has also started presenting William Hill’s High Press Podcast.

Vai Bhardwaj

Vai Bhardwaj made her Sky Sports News presenting debut alongside Jules Warren during Euro 2024. Bhardwaj began as a highly acclaimed sports writer and has since turned to broadcasting with great success.

The former journalist can also be found on Prime and Premier League productions.

Rachel Brookes

Beginning as a freelancer, Rachel Brookes joined Sky Sports full-time in 2011.

Since then, Brookes has covered all the bases in Sky’s exemplary Formula One coverage. Often conducting interviews in the pit lane, she has also hosted broadcasts on occasion and will lead many of their race weekend features.

Olivia Buzaglo

A relatively new edition to the Sky Sports team, Olivia Buzaglo made her name for Premier League productions before becoming a regular on Sky Sports News.

Alongside working for Sky Sports, Buzaglo has also covered some high-profile events for DAZN and worked for Chelsea TV.

Kelly Cates

Kelly Cates is an accomplished, professional sports presenter, who has an excellent on-screen chemistry with Sky’s pundits.

The lead presenter for Sky’s Premier League football, Cates has previously worked for Setanta, ESPN, and various other broadcasters.

Gail Davis

Gail Davis is a reporter and presenter for Sky Sports. Previously covering rugby, netball, and football, Davis has become a regular presenter on Sky Sports News.

Having featured on transfer deadline day frequently throughout her career with Sky, Davis has ascended to take on high-profile in the last few years, including with Erik ten Hag and Mikel Arteta.

Vicky Gomersall

Vicky Gomersall began her presenting career in 2005. She has been a long-term fixture on Sky Sports after beginning her journalistic adventure as a reporter in the north west of England.

Gomersall has been a constant in Sky’s sport coverage, whether appearing on Sky Sports News itself or working for Sky News.

Hayley McQueen

Arriving at Sky Sports after roles with Middlesbrough and Richard & Judy, Hayley McQueen left Sky in the 2000s for spells with Fox and MUFC TV but returned to the broadcaster in 2010.

A full-time regular on the channel since then, McQueen has been one of the few constants among Sky Sports’ presenting team. Where colleagues have come and gone, McQueen has remained loyal to Sky for well over a decade.

Emma Paton

A rising star at Sky Sports, Emma Paton first joined as a journalist in 2012. In 2019, she became a presenter.

The US Open, WWE and transfer deadline day are just three major events Paton has presented in recent years. Look for Paton to take on an even bigger role on the channel in 2025 and beyond.

Natalie Pinkham

Initially a reporter, Natalie Pinkham presented the F1 Show in 2013 and has become integral to Sky’s Formula One broadcasts.

A skilful interviewer and presenter, Pinkham pops up at different points throughout the race weekend. Notably, she became the first woman to commentate on a live F1 session on British television at the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix.

Eleanor Roper

Best known for presenting boxing, Eleanor Roper has also branched out to cover an array of other sports.

Roper will be seen reporting from training grounds and conducting in-person interviews.

Katie Shanahan

A former hockey player for England, Katie Shanahan has forged an impressive broadcast career after calling time on her playing days.

Shanahan is a regular commentator during Sky’s flagship show, Soccer Saturday. Sports fans will also see/hear the former England international on other Sky Sports broadcasts, ITV Sport, Prime, and TalkSport.

Clare Tomlinson

After working for Max Clifford and in Arsenal’s media team, Clare Tomlinson joined Sky’s Champions League coverage alongside Richard Keys in the 2000s.

Eventually, she became a touchline reporter on Super Sunday. In 2007, Tomlinson faced severe backlash after Stephen Bywater swore live on air. The presenter was ultimately signed off work for two months due to stress.

No longer presenting live action, Tomlinson has been a regular on Sky Sports News for over 10 years.

Jo Wilson

Jo Wilson’s journey to presenting on Sky Sports News was a bit unusual. Initially joining the company as a graduate trainee before working up to become co-producer via a role as a sub editor.

Wilson then debuted on-screen as a presenter in 2015.
