January Transfer Window Odds – 2025
The January transfer window often serves as an opportunity for teams to strengthen their prospects for the season by adding fresh talent midway through the campaign.
Unsurprisingly, the period leading up to the window’s opening is filled with rumours, as clubs compete to secure some of the world’s top players to improve their squads.
Here, we explore three of the most eagerly awaited transfers that could take place in January, offering insights into their possible destinations.

Mohamed Salah
It’d be impossible to create this list and not feature the Egyptian king himself, Mohamed Salah. Salah has been a talisman at Liverpool since 2017 and has been one of the most prolific wingers the world has seen and doesn’t look like slowing down.
That said, there’s been plenty of conversation around his future at the club given his contract ends this summer and should Liverpool not be willing to extend it, they’ll be wanting to secure some cash for him before the season closes.
The loudest whispers have been about a move to the Saudi Pro League, which looks the likeliest destination for the winger in January at 7/2, considering Al-Ittihad offered nearly $190 million for him last summer. It’s clear that the Saudi Pro League would offer the most money for the 32-year-old, so it’ll be interesting to see whether Liverpool cash in now or extend his contract given his immaculate consistency in form.
Paris Saint-Germain lie second in the market to snap up the winger at 10/1, with moves to Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid both priced at 25/1.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Another Liverpool player who has garnered plenty of attention is academy-grown Trent Alexander-Arnold, who’s been a first team regular for well over five years. Much like Salah, Trent’s contract also expires in the summer, and it’s been rumoured that there’s been considerable interest in the right-back from European rivals, Real Madrid.
Real Madrid have been collecting young talent from across the world and have bolstered their lineup recently with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe. Trent is 7/2 to join Ancelotti’s ranks in January should he favour a move away from his home club in the new year.
It’s a tough one to call as Liverpool currently sit top of the Premier League and Champions League tables so a move in January would result in both Trent and Salah abandoning both campaigns in which they’re currently in the drivers’ seat.
Viktor Gyökeres
Viktor Gyökeres made the headlines recently when putting three past Manchester City in the Champions League for Portuguese side Sporting CP, and as out and out number nines are increasingly hard to come by these days, ears have certainly been pricked across the top leagues in Europe.
Former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim, who is now the head coach at Manchester United, has a good relationship with the striker and looks keen to poach him back at 3/1. United’s season has not been plain sailing since his arrival and the addition of one of his trusted former goal machines could certainly help mend their domestic campaign.
Arsenal, who have been on the hunt for a number nine for a while, are 10/1 to swipe the Swedish forward in January, with a move to the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Chelsea all priced at 16/1.
