Jane Mangan’s William Hill blog: Savills Chase Day Preview

William Hill ambassador Jane Mangan previews Grade One action from Leopardstown where the Savills Chase is the feature event between Galopin Des Champs and Fact To File.
Leopardstown, Saturday
On Savills Chase Day I’m going to start off in the maiden hurdle (12.20pm) where I like Koktail Divin. He joined Henry de Bromhead from Alain Couetil after two bumper wins. By Masked Marvel and out and a Saint Des Saints mare, he’s well-bred. The de Bromhead team are in top class form and I’m hoping he can run with the sparkle he showed when he won by 10 lengths on his last start in France.
In the second (12.50pm) I like the Tony Martin-trained Aurea Fortuna. I think he bumped into a very well-handicapped Shantou Express at Punchestown last time, and to that extent I think this guy is still well-treated off only a two-pound higher mark. Daniel King takes the ride with only 10 stone and 12 pounds on his back, and they could be hard to beat.
The Savills Hurdle (2.00pm) is a Grade One prize over three miles where I like Home By The Lee. He won this race two years ago and I’ve never seen him in better form than when he won at Navan last time, beating Bob Olinger. He’s a nine-time winner and at nine years old looks to be in the peak of his form. I don’t need to tell you that Joseph O’Brien is having a good time of it at the moment, and he’ll do for me.
The Savills Chase (2.35pm) is being pinned up as a match race, but it’s far more than that with nine runners going to post. Saying that, it’s hard to get away from Fact To File and Galopin Des Champs. I think Galopin Des Champs is the one to be with over three miles around Leopardstown. He’s the highest rated horse in National Hunt racing and I think he’ll reign supreme.
