NFL Divisional Round Betting Tips And Predictions

NFL AFC East tips

Across six Wild Card Weekend games, only one away team managed to land a win, with that being the Washington Commanders over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even the LA Rams overcame the 14-3 Minnesota Vikings at “home.”

The eventual throughline of the fallout was quarterbacks shouldering the blame; Justin Herbert, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold all publically took responsibility for the losses sustained by their teams.

Now, the defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Detroit Lions come roaring into the fray, having sat back and watched as the rest battled for a place in this Divisional Round.

With eight teams hoping to get one step closer to making some memorable Super Bowl moments in February, these are the betting picks for the 2025 NFL Divisional Round playoffs games.

Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs

Kicking off Wild Card Weekend, the Houston Texans powered their way to a convincing 32-12 win, with their stout defence being a huge helper in ousting the Los Angeles Chargers.

Snagging four picks on Justin Herbert – who’d only thrown three all season – proved how dangerous the defence can be, and all while the offence steadily amassed points on the ground and through the air.

The defending champions and reigning Super Bowl MVP enter this one rested and with reinforcements. Jaylen Watson and Chris Jones practised in full to open the week.

On top of this, Marquise Brown has had another week to get back up to speed with the offence that’s struggled to move vertically for much of the season, having initially returned on 21 December against the Texans.

Under Andy Reid, the Chiefs have won six successive Divisional Round games, and while this run will eventually come to an end, a home game against the Texans this weekend doesn’t look to be the one to do it.

The last time these two met, just a few weeks ago, the Chiefs walked over the Texans 27-19 to make it eight from eight at home. So, the online betting picks here go to the Chiefs to win the game and Kareem Hunt to score an anytime touchdown.

Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles

Despite needing to move to Phoenix, some 375 miles away by car, the Los Angeles Rams made the SoFi Stadium feel like a home ground with a huge contingent of fans making the trip and them finishing as the 27-9 winners.

On paper, the move would nullify the advantage earned by the 10-7 team over the 14-3 wild card, but by the end of the first half, the Rams were already up 24-3. Vikings QB Sam Darnold was put down nine times en route to victory.

Over in Philadelphia, the Eagles were visibly out of step on offence against the Green Bay Packers. Jalen Hurts returned after two games out with a concussion, and while he did throw two TDs, he ended the day 13-of-21 passing.

Saquon Barkley was still on hand to grind out the yards – and grind he did. Only three of his 25 carries for 119 yards went for eight or more yards. The defence also stepped up in the win, being stout and forcing turnovers.

The Rams and Eagles seldom meet, but when they do, the Eagles tend to win. That is until the game comes to Philly. Four of the last five games have been played in California, but the one that wasn’t in 2020 ended 37-19 to the travelling Rams.

Assuming that both defences turn up again, it’ll be up to Hurts to get back in synch to overcome the Rams here. For that, the NFL Divisional Round picks for this game go to the LA Rams on the spread at +6 and Saquon Barkley scoring an anytime touchdown in the NFL odds.

Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills

Just another reminder: this Baltimore Ravens offence can run through anyone. Entering Wild Card Weekend, the Pittsburgh Steelers were a top-five team against the rush. Then, Baltimore put up 299 yards and two TDs on the ground.

It was an imperious display that just continued the incredible season of both Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Most promisingly, though, was the defence. They played well in the 28-14 win and remain the leading defence in the league for the fewest expected points added since Week 11.

When the Denver Broncos went 7-0 up against the Buffalo Bills on Wild Card Weekend, there was cause to worry. Luckily, the defence many have cited as a potential issue shored up and saw out the game by forcing seven fruitless possessions.

On the other side of the ball, the Bills did what the Bills have done for most of the season. They stuck with the run for a while to keep the defence honest, but still trusted Josh Allen to use his arm with the lead to cruise to a 31-7 win.

Jackson famously struggles in the playoffs, particularly after the first game, but it’s tough to see this Bills defence having an answer for their dynamic rushing attack. In September this season, the Ravens won 35-10 and Henry collected 199 yards and a TD.

Despite this one being at the home of the Bills, the NFL picks for this Divisional Playoffs game side with the Ravens winning on the moneyline, both teams to score at least two touchdowns, and Henry to get an anytime TD.

For the 2025 NFL Divisional Playoffs, the betting picks side with the Rams at least keeping it fairly close, and both the Chiefs and Ravens winning their games.
