Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Sunday’s Premier League fixtures:
Everton v Tottenham Hotspur – Sunday, 2pm
- David Moyes didn’t get off to the fairytale start he had hoped for following his return to Goodison Park, Everton suffered their ninth defeat of the season against Aston Villa.
- The Toffees are sixteenth in the PL and just one point from safety, although a victory here would move them to within just four points of Tottenham.
- Everton have struggled all season in front of goal, only Southampton (12) have scored less than Everton (15).
——————————– - Tottenham head to Merseyside off the back of a 2-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal, extending Spurs’ winless run in the Premier League to five games.
- Ange Postecoglou’s side do give up chances quite easily, they’ve conceded in all but three of their ten away games in the league.
- Spurs hold a good record in recent years against Everton, losing just one of their last ten meetings. (W4, D5, L1). However, all of the last six meetings at Goodison Park have ended in a stalemate.
Prediction: Draw, Everton 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion – Sunday, 2pm
- Manchester United avoided a scare on Thursday evening, they found themselves 1-0 against bottom of the table Southampton with less than ten minutes to play, an Amad Diallo hat-trick sealed all three points.
- Thursday’s victory was United’s first home win since 1st December 2024, they’ve moved themselves up to twelfth in the Premier League.
- The Red Devils have won six of their eight home meetings against Brighton, although they’ve lost the last two. There’s never been a draw between these two in Manchester.
——————————– - Brighton extended their unbeaten record to six games in all competitions after their 2-0 win away at Ipswich, although they’ve only won two of their last ten outings.
- The Seagulls have scored in every game this season, whilst they’ve seen both teams score in eight of their eleven PL away games (73%).
- The last time Brighton won three away games on the bounce came back in November 2023, a victory here would also make it three in their last three at Old Trafford.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Man United to win, Manchester United 2-1 Brighton.
Nottingham Forest v Southampton – Sunday, 2pm
- Following their 1-1 stalemate with league leaders Liverpool on Tuesday night, it’s just one defeat in their last ten outings now for Nottingham Forest, sitting third in the Premier League.
- Forest are unbeaten in their last five games at the City Ground in all competitions, with victories in four of those, they haven’t gone at least six unbeaten here since 2022.
- The Tricky Trees have won all of their last three meetings with Southampton.
——————————– - Southampton remain the only side in the Premier League yet to win away from home, they’ve taken just two points from a possible thirty-three.
- The Saints are on a dismal run in the league, having not won in any of their last eleven outings, they remain ten points from safety.
- Southampton have only visited the City Ground once since their victory back in 2012 during their Championship campaign, they lost the reverse fixture this season 1-0.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest to win 2-0, Morgan Gibbs-White to score anytime.
Ipswich Town v Manchester City – Sunday, 4.30pm
- After their 2-0 defeat to Brighton on Thursday evening, Ipswich Town occupy the final relegation spot in the Premier League, albeit via goal-difference.
- The Tractor Boys have struggled at home this season, with just one win from their eleven games at Portman Road, it’s a big ask here to make it two from twelve.
- Despite taking an early lead at the Etihad Stadium back in August, Kieran McKenna’s side conceded three goals just nine minutes later and eventually lost the game 4-1.
——————————– - With three wins on the bounce for Pep’s side, he must have thought it would be four from four when City put themselves 2-0 up away to Brentford with twelve minutes left to play, another collapse from City seen the game end 2-2.
- Frustrating time for Pep Guardiola and co, there won’t be another Premier League title this season but a win here could put them back into the top four, depending on results elsewhere.
- City will be aware that Man United, Aston Villa and Chelsea have all struggled here this season but should find a way to bounce back.
Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-2 Manchester City, Erling Haaland to score first.
