Cheltenham Tips 2025

We’re now under two months out from the headline week of the National Hunt season, the Cheltenham Festival.
With Trials Day still to come, our blog looks at some of the ante post markets for the Cheltenham Festival.
A reminder that we are offering our ‘Non Runner Money Back’ offer on all 28 races at the festival, as well as ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’ across all UK and Irish racing from 8am onwards on the day.

Champion Hurdle
The first championship race of the week is the Champion Hurdle. Constitution Hill is the current 4/6 favourite in the ante post market, and he is difficult to look past at this current stage. He looked back to his best over Christmas at Kempton, and his run at Cheltenham in the International Hurdle will tell us more.
4/6 could be considered short on the face of it, but there’s questions over those behind him in the market. Lossiemouth and Brighterdaysahead’s participation in the race isn’t guaranteed, as both have the option of taking in the Mares’ Hurdle, and State Man was well beaten last time. Henderson’s stable star is absolutely the one to beat, taking 4/6 is a different question but if he was to back up his Kempton performance on Saturday, you can bet he’ll be shorter than that.
Queen Mother Champion Chase
The Queen Mother Champion Chase market is more competitive. Jonbon heads the betting at 11/8, following his impressive victory in the Clarence House at Ascot. He’s pursued in the market by Gaelic Warrior, who’s a 7/2 shot for Willie Mullins. His victory in last year’s Arkle was taking, and despite falling short since, his ability is clear for all to see. He’ll no doubt be the toughest rival Jonbon will have to face all season.
Ryanair Chase
Out of the five races, the Ryanair Chase is the hardest one to call ahead of the Festival. It’s currently 5/1 the field, with Fact To File and Gaelic Warrior heading the betting. They may look at other targets at the Festival, so it could be worth looking at an intended runner. Protektorat, an 8/1 shot, won this race last year and comes here off the back of an impressive front-running performance in the Fleur De Lys Chase at Windsor. His jumping was second-to-none that day and it may worth be taking a flier on the Skelton star to follow up, in a market where several may not turn up for the race.
Stayers’ Hurdle
The Stayers’ Hurdle market is dominated by one horse, Teahupoo. The current 6/4 favourite won the race last year and looks primed to go again. Last seen behind Lossiemouth in the Hatton’s Grace, that was no disgrace as the winner is a Champion Hurdle contender herself and he may have found the trip a little sharp that day.
Gold Cup
The headline of the week is the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Galopin Des Champs is in pursuit of his third consecutive win in the race and he’s a 4/5 chance to do so. Many were questioning if the star chaser would be able to deliver once again this season, but he showed he’s still at his imperious best when winning the Savills Chase.
