Championship Predictions And Betting Tips for Saturday 1st February 2025

IT is an exciting period for Championship betting with merely three points separating our top three clubs who all failed to win last time out.
So we preview another full programme of weekend fixtures heading into February. Here are the pairings I am anticipating most alongside considered score predictions to assist your live betting…
Leeds United v Cardiff City
Rankings: 1st versus 18th
Twelve fruitful League and Cup matches unbeaten mean Leeds United enjoy a two point cushion at the summit. They’ve only lost once at home throughout 2024/25.
Furthermore, Daniel Farke’s men are divisional foremost scorers on 53 goals. Central defender Pascal Struijk is close to regaining fitness after missing four EFL fixtures due to hamstring injury problems.
Imminent opponents Cardiff City hold an eight game unconquered record across all competitions. Yet the Bluebirds reflect on a solitary away Championship victory this campaign.
Score prediction: Leeds march on 3-1.
Derby County v Sheffield United
Rankings: 22nd versus 2nd
Derby County have alarmingly slipped two points into the relegation region courtesy of seven straight League and Cup defeats. Experienced defender Matt Clarke returned to Pride Park on Tuesday for an undisclosed fee penning a deal until the summer.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United are two points below pole position. I was totally surprised by the inexplicable 3-0 home capitulation against Hull City last Friday which shattered a three match Championship winning streak.
But popular Blades boss Chris Wilder has now extended his contract binding him to the conclusion of 2027/28 season.
Score prediction: Blades bounce back 2-0.
Portsmouth v Burnley
Rankings: 21st versus 3rd
Portsmouth hover two points above the dreaded dotted relegation line losing their last two Championship contests. Tuesday night’s 1-0 reverse against Millwall extinguished Pompey’s seven game unbeaten run at home.
Making a 274 mile trek to the South Coast, Burnley lie one point under automatic promotion discussions. The Clarets haven’t lost in 17 League and Cup affairs whilst cherishing the division’s best defensive rearguard leaking just nine times amidst 29 matches.
The previous EFL goal conceded was prior to Christmas eight games ago!
Score prediction: Burnley shade it 1-0.
Plymouth Argyle v West Bromwich Albion
Rankings: 24th versus 5th
Slumbering seven points short of safety, rock bottom Plymouth endure a 15 match winless Championship collapse stretching right back to 5th November. Argyle also possess this division’s worst defensive showing representing 62 goals conceded.
Although they can take heart from last Saturday’s battling 2-2 draw away to high flying Sunderland. Rated at £1.7 million, Ukraine centre-half Maksym Taloverov could be moving to Home Park via Austrian side LASK.
Next up, visitors West Brom protect one defeat among six League encounters. Albion may splash £4.2 million on Swiss outfit FC St Gallen’s forward Willem Geubbels.
Score prediction: West Brom winners 2-1
