Tournament Format
The Premier League Darts operates on a league system, with players earning points based on their performance each night. The top four players at the end of the league phase will advance to the playoffs, culminating in the final at The O2 arena in London on May 29.
Night Three Matchups
Luke Humphries vs. Stephen Bunting
Luke Humphries, the Night One winner and favourite to progress to the next round (2/5), faces Bunting, who has shown consistent form this season. Humphries secured a 6–1 victory over Chris Dobey in the Belfast final, while Bunting has been a strong contender in previous matches. The Bullet has been a solid performer in recent years and is in the hunt for his first Premier League title; his throw is steady, and he often plays well in high-pressure situations.
This matchup will be about whether Bunting can break through Humphries’ rhythm and stop him from making it back-to-back wins, but it won’t be easy for the underdog at 19/10. Expect some high-scoring exchanges and clinical finishing from both players.
Gerwyn Price vs. Luke Littler
Gerwyn Price, known for his flamboyant approach, takes on Littler, the defending Premier League champion. Price has had his share of mixed results in the Premier League but remains one of the most dangerous players and is 23/10 to defeat The Nuke in Thursday’s quarter-final.
Littler will meanwhile be looking to continue his good form following his Night Two victory in Glasgow. The Nuke found himself 5-1 down against Rob Cross earlier in the evening but fought back to claim a stunning victory, showcasing his ability to deliver under extreme pressure. He’s odds-on at 1/3 to defeat the Welshman in this matchup.
Rob Cross vs. Nathan Aspinall
Rob Cross has been quietly working his way back into the elite level of the game after a couple of years of inconsistent form. Cross’s experience and tactical play will be tested against Aspinall’s dynamic and consistent style.
Aspinall has demonstrated a gritty, all-around game with his ability to score heavily and close out legs efficiently. His mental toughness and relentless drive could put him in the driver’s seat, if given the opportunity, but a forgettable end to 2024 and start to 2025 makes it difficult to fully back him.
Cross is the marginal favourite at 4/6, while Aspinall is 6/5 given his underwhelming form over the past few months.
Michael van Gerwen vs. Chris Dobey
Three-time World Champion Michael van Gerwen is the firm favourite in this contest against Chris Dobey at 1/2. While MVG had a mixed showing in the first two nights of the Premier League, his experience on big stages makes him a dangerous opponent, exemplified by his run to the final in last month’s World Championship.
Dobey, who made it to the final in Belfast and had a solid performance in Night Two, will be looking to break through against van Gerwen and is 8/5 to do so. Dobey has proven that he can compete with the very best, and his confident demeanour could be the X-factor.
Dobey will however need to be at his sharpest to beat van Gerwen, as the Dutchman thrives under pressure. Avoiding falling behind in legs early will be the key to Dobey’s chances and he’ll need to focus on his finishing to have a chance against the “Green Machine.”
Tournament Favourites
Luke Littler remains the 5/4 favourite to win a second successive Premier League crown after his victory in Glasgow last week. Luke Humphries narrowly trails The Nuke at 2/1, followed by league-veteran Michael van Gerwen at 5/1.
Elsewhere, Gerwyn Price is 14/1, while Chris Dobey and Stephen Bunting share odds of 16/1 to emerge as surprise champions, with outsiders Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall priced 20/1 and 50/1 respectively.
