Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Tuesday’s Premier League fixtures:
Brighton & Hove Albion v Bournemouth – Tuesday, 7.30pm
- Brighton made it three wins on the bounce in all competitions on Saturday afternoon with a dominant display against Southampton, leaving St Mary’s with a 4-0 victory.
- The Seagulls are hot on the heels of those currently occupying a European place, they are now just three points off Chelsea and Bournemouth.
- Brighton have a good record against Bournemouth, having won four of their last five meetings along with all of their last three on home soil.
——————————– - Bournemouth had to play the majority of the game with ten men on Saturday against Wolves, Ilya Zabarnyi was sent off in the first half and the Cherries were made to pay, losing 1-0.
- The Cherries will have to be careful, defeat here could see them drop out of the top six. Despite losing just one of their last nine away games, they’ve won just twice away at Brighton in their last thirteen attempts.
- Bournemouth haven’t lost back-to-back Premier League games since November, funnily enough the side that inflicted that second defeat was Brighton.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Brighton 2-2 Bournemouth.
Crystal Palace v Aston Villa – Tuesday, 7.30pm
- Crystal Palace continued to climb up the Premier League with an impressive 2-0 victory away at Fulham on Saturday.
- The Eagles have the fourth best away record in the league having lost just three of their thirteen outings. However, it’s a lot different on home soil, with just two league wins so far.
- Having said that, Oliver Glasner’s side should take confidence from the fact Palace have won five of their last six meetings with Villa in South London.
——————————– - Aston Villa kept their top four hopes alive but they left it late against Chelsea and got a huge slice of luck from Blues goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, not that mattered to goalscorer Marco Asensio.
- Villa extended their unbeaten run to four games across all competitions but have struggled on the road of late, they’ve won just two of their last eleven outings in all competitions.
- This will be a tricky one for Villa, they’ve won just twice at Selhurst Park in their last sixteen attempts.
Prediction: Crystal Palace or Draw, Crystal Palace 1-1 Aston Villa.
Wolves v Fulham – Tuesday, 7.30pm
- Wolves picked up a huge three points away at Bournemouth on Saturday, their 1-0 win has given Vítor Pereira’s side a five point cushion to the relegation zone.
- The Old Gold went into the reverse fixture as underdogs but defied the betting odds and in style, with a 4-1 victory at Craven Cottage back in November.
- If Wolves are to survive this season, there’s no doubt that Matheus Cunha is to thank, the Brazilian has scored thirteen Premier League goals so far, a goal here will mark five consecutive games with a goal for the first time in his career.
——————————– - Fulham come into this game off the back of a really poor performance against Crystal Palace, with the Cottagers failing to produce a shot on target in the whole game.
- Marco Silva’s side have been on a good run away from home though, having lost just one of their last ten outings on the road in all competitions.
- This isn’t a happy place to visit for Fulham, they haven’t won here in ninety minutes since 1985, eighteen visits ago.
Prediction: Matheus Cunha to score anytime, Wolves 2-1 Fulham.
Chelsea v Southampton – Wednesday, 8.15pm
- Chelsea’s season is starting to unravel, having won just one of their last five outings, maybe a visit from struggling Southampton is what the Blues need right now.
- Enzo Maresca’s side have been better at home, they’ve lost just two of their twelve Premier League games here, whilst they’ve lost just one of their last seventeen games in all competitions on home soil.
- Chelsea should win this one comfortably and get back on track to complete their goal of finishing in the top four and securing UEFA Champions League football.
——————————– - In terms of points gained in the Premier League, Southampton are well on their way to becoming one of the worst sides in the Premier League era, Derby hold the record with eleven points, the Saints have nine so far.
- A 4-0 hammering at home to Brighton on Saturday has now seen the Southampton concede at least three goals in six of their last seven Premier League games, they are going down without a fight it seems.
- The Saints upset the odds in their last visit to Stamford Bridge with a 1-0 victory, they’ll be dreaming of something similar on Tuesday evening.
Prediction: Chelsea to score 3 or more, Chelsea 4-1 Southampton.
