Ballon d’Or Odds: Mo Salah Clear Favourite For Award

According to the latest football betting markets with William Hill, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is now the leading contender to win the coveted Ballon d’Or award this year.
The Egypt international produced a man-of-the-match performance against Manchester City, scoring his 25th Premier League goal of the season while providing his 16th assist in a 2-0 win for the Reds.
Liverpool have an 11-point cushion at the top of the Premier League table and Salah, instrumental in the club’s success since moving to Anfield in 2017, is now as short as 11/10 to win football’s most prestigious individual award.
Kylian Mbappe, a hat-trick hero for Real Madrid against Manchester City in last week’s Champions League tie, remains Salah’s main market rival at 11/4 while Vinicius Junior is priced at 10/1 for Ballon d’Or glory.
William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Mo Salah has been in sensational form this season, and his masterclass against Manchester City only strengthens his Ballon d’Or case. We’ve now slashed his odds to 11/10, making him the firm favourite for the award.
“However, with the Champions League still to play a crucial role, Kylian Mbappé (11/4) and Vinícius Júnior (10/1) are still very much in the conversation. A deep European run for Real Madrid could yet shift the sports betting odds in their favour.
“Meanwhile, Barcelona duo Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are both priced at 14/1 and strong Champions League showings could also put them in contention for the award.”
With Liverpool now given a 94% chance of Premier League glory, Salah’s position at the top of the Ballon d’Or market looks secure for the time being – barring the slip up of all slip ups.
Salah has taken his game to new heights this season and he looks an absolute shoo-in to add a second Premier League Player of the Season award to his name. But for the Egyptian King, a first Ballon d’Or award will cement his position in the history books.
