Who Will Be Crowned Most Streamed Spotify Artist In 2025?

Spotify Most Streamed Artist

The online betting markets make Taylor Swift the clear favourite to be the most streamed Spotify artist in 2025.

Swift, coming off the highest-grossing music tour ever, is heavily favoured over The Weeknd and other contenders after registering over 52 billion streams since the start of 2023.

Swift is followed by the second-most people on Spotify behind Arijit Singh. As of March 2025, only six artists have north of 100 million followers on the streaming platform.

Swift Goes For Three-Peat

The Swifties aren’t going to disappear in 2025. Taylor Swift is one of the biggest artists ever, with an especially devoted fanbase that are unlikely to swap out her songs for the latest release. Still, Swift’s grip on the title of being Spotify’s most-streamed artist is at least up for debate.

The hype is going to wane with the Eras Tour drawing to a close. Swift is due a well-deserved break, which is likely to reduce some of her casual listeners. Her relationship with Travis Kelce will keep her in the spotlight, but there’s not going to be the string of daily headlines and viral posts relating to her tour like we saw throughout 2024.

It’s worth noting, though, that a three-peat isn’t unchartered territory. Bad Bunny topped the streaming list in 2020, 2021, and 2022. If anyone can repeat that feat, it’s surely Swift, who has reached levels of fame previously reserved for Michael Jackson and The Beatles.

The Weeknd in Second

With the sixth-most followers and the third-most monthly listeners, The Weeknd is understandably a contender to have the most Spotify streams in 2025.

Since 2015, the Canadian performer has had 53 months as the most-streamed Spotify artist. Blinding Lights and Starboy and first and fifth, respectively, in the list of the most-streamed tracks ever.

A new album – Hurry Up Tomorrow –was released at the end of January. This has inevitably boosted streams for The Weeknd and could have a longer term impact throughout the rest of the year.

His tour, which began in 2022, runs from May until September. While it wouldn’t be anywhere near as widely covered as the Eras Tour, it will still work in The Weeknd’s favour in the race to have the most streams in 2025.

Bruno Mars’ Strong Start

Bruno Mars has had the most streams in January, February, and March. Mars was also the most-streamed artist in the final two months of 2024 and sits 12th in Spotify followers ahead of Rihanna, Adele, and Coldplay.

While there’s no album release or tour planned in 2025, Bruno Mars is continuing his Las Vegas residency in May and June. This is unlikely to garner worldwide attention, but it’s enough to keep fans interested.

We are sceptical taking Mars at his current price, however. There’s a lot of time left in 2025, and it’s hard to see how he maintains the momentum to finish ahead of The Weeknd or Taylor Swift.
