Following on from the midweek action, the Premier League continues this weekend and with just eight games left to play, points seem that extra bit valuable with so much still to play for.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the Premier League..

The 196th edition of the Manchester Derby will take place on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford, with both sides looking to claim the bragging rights of the City.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Sunday’s Premier League fixture:

Manchester United v Manchester City – Sunday, 4.30pm

  • Ruben Amorim will be hoping his side can do the double over their bitter rivals, a victory here for the Red Devils would secure their first double over Man City since 2020, they won the reverse fixture in dramatic fashion with two late goals.
  • United are a club in transition, on the field it’s not been good but despite a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, the improvements were there to see. The league is done for Amorim and co but success in the Europa League would be a solid start to his Man United career.
  • It’s hard to know what you’re going to get from this United side, they’ve impressed against Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City so far, a performance at a similar level could be enough for all three points at Old Trafford, although they’ve won just once here in their last five Manchester derbies.
    ——————————–
  • Manchester City come into this derby off the back of a 2-0 victory against struggling Leicester City on Wednesday evening, the Blues haven’t won back-to-back Premier League games since January.
  • Erling Haaland will sit this one out following his injury at Bournemouth, whilst Kevin De Bruyne announced on Friday that he’ll be leaving the club at the end of the season after 10 years, he’d love to mark his last Manchester derby with a victory.
  • It’s a fixture that rarely ends in a draw at Old Trafford, just one of the last twenty-two meetings here have ended in a stalemate.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & No Draw, Manchester United 2-1 Manchester City.
