The Premier League is back on Wednesday evening for just one fixture, with Newcastle United and Crystal Palace playing catch-up due to Newcastle’s involvement in the Carabao Cup final.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Wednesday’s Premier League fixture:

Newcastle United v Crystal Palace – Wednesday, 7.30pm

  • The Magpies have been flying in recent weeks, Eddie Howe’s side made it five wins in a row on Sunday with a thumping 4-1 victory over Manchester United, a result which has moved them up to fourth now with this game in hand to play.
  • The season is shaping up nicely for Newcastle, they remain just two points clear of Aston Villa in seventh though, it’s so congested and with the two sides meeting this weekend, a victory here to put them five points clear of Villa would ease a bit of pressure ahead of that big showdown on Saturday.
  • St James’ Park has been the stadium for goals recently, with eleven of Newcastle’s last thirteen games here in all competitions producing at least three goals on the night.

  • Crystal Palace thought they were on their way to extending their unbeaten record away from home to nine games when they found themselves 2-0 up at the Etihad Stadium after just twenty-minutes. However, that unbeaten run did come to an end and in disappointing style as well, losing the game 5-2.
  • Given the way the Eagles started the season, Oliver Glasner will be pleased with how his side have turned things around in the Premier League, still in the hunt for a top-half finish whilst preparing for their FA Cup semi-final clash at the weekend.
  • Palace haven’t lost back-to-back away games since September/October 2024, although they’ve won just two of their last fifteen visits to Newcastle, this could be a tricky one.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Newcastle To Win, Newcastle 2-1 Crystal Palace.
