Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Thursday night’s UEFA Conference League fixture:
Djurgarden v Chelsea – Thursday, 8pm
- Following their victory against SK Rapid in the previous round, Djurgarden confirmed their spot in the UEFA Conference League semi-final and their first-ever UEFA semi-final, creating history for the Swedish side.
- Jani Honkavaara’s side have now become the only team from Sweden to reach a UEFA semi-final since IFK Goteborg’s famous triumph in the UEFA Cup back in 1987, they’ll be hoping to join Goteborg in the history books, they are just three games away from doing just that.
- This is only the second time in their history that Djurgarden have faced English opposition, having played out two games against Manchester United back in 1964 during the Fairs Cup.
——————————– - Against all the odds, Chelsea actually suffered a defeat in their UEFA Europa League second-leg tie against Legia Warsaw at Stamford Bridge, luckily for Chelsea they had already won the first leg 3-0 and their 2-1 defeat didn’t do much damage but it’s concerning.
- Enzo Maresca’s side have bounced back from that defeat though with consecutive victories in the Premier League against Fulham and Everton, keeping the Blues within the top five at the time of writing, which would be enough to secure Champions League football for next season.
- Just like they did in Poland against Legia Warsaw, Chelsea should take some sort of advantage back to Stamford Bridge if history is anything to go by, given the Blues have never lost a game against Swedish opposition (W5, D3).
Prediction: Chelsea To Win To Nil, Djurgarden 0-2 Chelsea.
