Tournament Format
The Premier League Darts operates on a league system, with players earning points based on their performance each night. The top four players at the end of the league phase will advance to the playoffs, culminating in the final at The O2 arena in London on May 29.
Luke Littler vs. Stephen Bunting
The night kicks off with crowd-favourite Luke Littler taking on home-country hopeful Stephen Bunting. Littler, still top of the table and in majestic form, is the clear favourite at 2/7. But don’t write off Bunting – priced at 13/5 – who’s riding a wave of confidence after recent upsets and a surge in scoring power. With both players capable of big checkouts and power scoring, this has the makings of a high-octane opener.
Nathan Aspinall vs. Chris Dobey
Two players scrapping for consistency and a playoff lifeline go head-to-head in match two. Nathan Aspinall, ever the fighter, is slightly favoured at 10/11, while Chris Dobey, who’s shown flashes of brilliance without the results to match, also stands at 10/11. With almost nothing between them, this could be the tightest match of the night.
Luke Humphries vs. Gerwyn Price
A blockbuster in every sense. Luke Humphries, who has been so consistent this campaign, is 8/11 to edge out Gerwyn Price, who’s priced at 11/10 and needs points to firm up his playoff hopes. This is a clash of heavyweights with both men in strong form, and it could be a darting chess match of the highest quality.
Rob Cross vs. Michael van Gerwen
We close the night with two players desperate to rediscover winning ways. Rob Cross, who’s clinging to playoff hopes, is a narrow 13/10 underdog against Michael van Gerwen, whose recent form has been erratic, but remains a live threat at 8/13. Van Gerwen needs a deep run to get back into the playoff conversation, and this could be the moment he clicks into gear. With both players in a must-win mindset, expect intensity from the first dart.
Tournament Favourites
Understandably, Luke Littler is the odds-on favourite to claim the Premier League title this year at 10/11, following his success in the competition last year as well as his recent PDC Championship title haul. ‘Cool Hand’ Luke Humphries narrowly trails ‘The Nuke’ at 9/4, followed by Gerwyn Price at 11/2. League veteran Michael van Gerwen is 8/1. Nathan Aspinall has lengthened out to 16/1, while Rob Cross has drifted further to 40/1. Chris Dobey and Stephen Bunting are outsiders to claim the title at 66/1 and 200/1 respectively.
