Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Thursday night’s UEFA Europa League fixture:
Bodo/Glimt v Tottenham Hotspur – Thursday, 8pm
- Bodo/Glimt became Norway’s first semi-finalists in any UEFA club competition and despite losing the first leg 3-1 in North London, they’ll face Spurs on an artificial pitch in front of a capacity crowd of just over 8,000 and in temperatures that fall below freezing, something the Premier League side won’t be used to.
- The “Superlaget” really do make these conditions count on home soil, they’ve won their last five UEFA Europa League games here scoring at least two goals in the process, most recently beating Lazio 2-0.
- However, despite a brilliant record here the Norwegian side have never beaten English opposition, they’ve now faced Arsenal (x2), Manchester United and Tottenham, losing all four outings. They have beaten an Ange Postecoglou side with victory over Celtic in 2022.
—————— - Tottenham Hotspur would have been sitting a lot more comfortable had they not conceded that late consolation goal last Thursday but even so, the Lilywhites are still expected to confirm their place in the UEFA Europa League final here.
- Ange Postecoglou’s side come into this one off the back of a 1-1 draw with rivals West Ham on Sunday afternoon, the Australian rotated his side to prioritise this semi-final second leg but could be without Dominic Solanke here, whilst James Maddison looks set to be out for the reminder of the season.
- The positive news for Spurs is that they’ve progressed from eighteen of their last twenty-one UEFA knockout ties after winning the first leg, it would be a disaster for Ange and co if they don’t complete the job.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score In Both Halves (9/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
