The stage is set, the “new” San Mames stadium is ready to host it’s first ever men’s European final, as Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United battle it out for silverware in this all-English affair, it’s the UEFA Europa League Final.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the UEFA Europa League..

After poor campaigns in the Premier League, both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have just one game left to save their season, it’s all or nothing here in Bilbao, it should be an intriguing clash.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Wednesday night’s UEFA Europa League final:

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United – Wednesday, 8pm

  • This really is all or nothing for both sides, Tottenham sit seventeenth in the Premier League with just one game remaining, defeat in this one would suggest this would be the end of the road for Ange Postecoglou as the Spurs manager.
  • This is Tottenham’s first European final since their defeat in the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool in 2019, whilst they’ve had success in the UEFA Cup before back in 1972 and 1984 but without a major trophy in the last seventeen years, this is big for the Lilywhites.
  • Spurs should travel to Bilbao with a fair bit of confidence as they’ve beaten Manchester United in all three of their meetings so far this season, whilst they are unbeaten against the Red Devils in their last six meetings across all competitions.
    ——————————–
  • Like Spurs, this is a fixture that will ultimately define Manchester United’s season as they enter their ninth European final after remaining unbeaten in the UEFA Europa League so far in this campaign (W9, D5), they could become just the fourth side to win the UEL unbeaten.
  • Ruben Amorim will be hoping to become just the third United manager to win a major trophy in their first season but his side will need to improve massively from recent displays, having won just one of their last ten league games.
  • We could be in for a few goals here in Bilbao, ten of the last thirteen meetings between these sides have produced at least three goals, whilst United haven’t lost to the same side four times in one season 1986.
