Winnings Boost Acca 6th June

Ecuador v Brazil – Friday, 12am

Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure begins with a tough trip to Ecuador, with the hosts currently unbeaten on their own patch during the World Cup qualifying campaign. However, Brazil may still have too much firepower for their opponents if they bring their A-game.

Ecuador have been hugely impressive in recent qualifying fixtures and victory here may be enough to book their ticket to next summer’s tournament – though they need other results to go their way. Brazil have a point to prove and I’m expecting the five-time World Cup winners to get the job done.

Prediction: Brazil to win (6/5)

North Macedonia v Belgium – Friday, 7.45pm

Belgium can beat North Macedonia on Friday evening but it won’t be completely straightforward. The Lynxes are a stubborn outfit on home soil and they have made a strong start to qualifying, with four points from two group games.

The visitors have recorded just one clean sheet in their last nine encounters while North Macedonia have scored in 13 consecutive matches, making both teams to score a viable option. But with the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku in the Belgian squad, the Red Devils may have too much in attack for the home team.

Prediction: Belgium to win (4/11)

Republic of Ireland v Senegal – Friday, 7.45pm

These end of season friendlies are so often played at a pedestrian pace and it’s hard to see either nation going hell for leather in this clash, though Heimir Hallgrimmson’s men probably have more to play for than the visitors.

Ireland have failed to win four of their previous five international friendlies while Senegal have won 13 of their 17 encounters since the start of 2024. The form book suggests an away win in Dublin on Friday night but my prediction is for a low-scoring affair – though Senegal are well worth a second glance in the outright win market.

Prediction: Under 2.5 goals (8/13)

Scotland v Iceland – Friday, 7.45pm

Scotland aren’t the most consistent national side around but they should have enough to get past Iceland at Hampden Park on Friday, though you could argue that many would’ve said the same ahead of matches against Northern Ireland and Finland.

Goals may be at a premium and the opening goal could be decisive but home advantage may be key here and Scotland, buoyed by the Tartan Army, may just about edge it. They are probably a tad shorter in the betting than anticipated but the hosts can get back to winning ways after the disappointing 3-0 defeat to Greece in March.

Prediction: Scotland to win (13/20)
