Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Thursday’s FIFA Club World Cup fixtures:
Al Ain v Juventus – Thursday, 2am (UK Time).
- This is the second time that Al Ain have taken part in the FIFA Club World Cup and remain just the third side from Asia to have reached the final, having suffered a 4-1 defeat in the final against Real Madrid back in 2018.
- The revamp of this competition though means Al Ain will find it much more difficult, especially having drawn the likes of Juventus and Manchester City in Group G.
- Vladimir Ivic’s side have turn their recent form around, having suffered five defeats in a row in February and March, since then they’ve put together a seven game unbeaten run in the league.
——————————– - Remarkably, this is a debut for Juventus in the FIFA Club World Cup, having qualified by their UEFA four-year ranking, Igor Tudor will be hoping his side can progress out of this group fairly comfortably.
- The Old Lady did manage to secure their place in the UEFA Champions League for next season by finishing fourth in Serie A, just one point above AS Roma.
- Juventus will be hoping to get off to a perfect start here and will be hoping to claim at least four points before they face Manchester City in the final group game, they should at least keep a clean sheet in this one given they kept seventeen last season, away win here.
Prediction: Juventus To Win To Nil, Al Ain 0-2 Juventus.
Inter Miami v FC Porto – Thursday, 8pm
- Inter Miami didn’t get the start they had hoped for on Sunday after a goalless draw against Al Ahly in Group A, putting a lot of pressure on this game, especially given that all four sides could only manage a point in their opening fixtures.
- Javier Mascherano’s side are now unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions but did have to rely on a penalty save from Oscar Ustari in the their opening game to get their first point, he’ll be hoping his side can be more clinical in front of goal.
- Before their goalless draw on Sunday, all nine games previous had seen at least three or more goals, with the Herons scoring at least three goals in six of those, we could see goals in this one.
——————————– - Porto were also held to a goalless draw in their first game of this FIFA Club World Cup against Palmeiras and with the Brazilian side ending the game with an xG of 2.08, i’m sure Porto will see that as a positive result.
- Victory in this one would put Porto in the driving seat in terms of qualification, this is the first time that the Portuguese side have ever faced a team from the United States.
- This is a tough one to call on paper as neither side have impressed so far but i do think we’ll get goals in this one and both sides will be eager to get their first win of the campaign.
Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals, Both Teams To Score & No Draw.
